IsraelRide - Day 3 - Mountain Biking and Kibbutz Sde-Boker to Mitzpe Ramon
May 13, 2006 9:31 AM
Day three of biking!
After being on road bikes for well over 100 miles it was a great change of pace and environment to hop on mountain bikes and take a rocky and hilly trail to a spring in the middle of the desert.
Today was the hottest day so far, and you'll see hardly any trees and lots of rolling rocky hills.
Distance: 67 miles including mountain biking

dear Dylan,
I am the mother of a Beit Rabban student (Elsie, Gan Bet) and a supporter
of Hazon so have been following the ride with great pleasure.
Thank you for the amazing photos -- I can almost feel the hot sun, dry sand
and cool water.
Ride on!

My wife Donna and son Reuben are on the ride with you and your photos have been a great source for me to follow the ride from afar. It sounds like you are all having a great experience in many ways.
Thanks and good luck the rest of the way.

Dylan,
Thanks for the photos and updates. They bring back many fond memories. I did the ride last year. As I understand it your weather was a tad warmer than ours. Leaving Jersusalem and Mitzpe Ramon several people wore jackets because it was so cool last year.
It is truly a unique experience as well as doing something for two good causes; Arava and Hazon. I plan to do it again next year.
Say hi to your dad for me. He preceded me in West Philly. I graduated Penn in '77. We corresponded briefly just before you guys left for Israel. Thanks.
B'shalom,
Ed
